Hi,

Anyone can identify what is this red compound on the wires in the attached image ?
I see it a lot on different applications, sometimes with different colors (green for example).
It's not instead of solder, so it's not conductive wire glue.

most likely a dab of lacquer, many manufacturers put little dabs on components etc to indicate during the QA process that it has been checked

Looks like it has been applied to a soldered connection of solid wire, so it may have been applied as a "strain relief" coating to prevent the wire from breaking as a result of vibrations.

Looks like it might be an International Rectifier IRLR7843 Hexfet. Have you started a "what is it" thread here? If so, each "whutizzit" should be a separate topic, i.e., thread.
