Hi,

I want to take a line out and amplify it to a single or pair of 6x9
speakers. What/Where is the cheapest way to do this?

Thanks,

Alan

Cheapest? Go to the store and buy an amplifier. For a given power and
level of audio quality, you're never going to be able to build something
cheaper than a Chinese factory with virtually-free labor and massive
quantity discounts on parts. Plus, that way you get it right away, and you
bring it back if you don't like it. Honest. Even with all the markups
along the way, if something is available on the consumer market, it's
practically always cheaper to buy it off the shelf than to try to cobble it
together yourself.

But if you're desperate to build it yourself, then you'll need to let us
know a few more things:
how much power do you need?
how good do you need it to sound?
what is your power source?
what is the "line out" coming from?
what environment does the device need to function in?
how reliably does it need to function?
how long do you expect it work for?
how soon do you need it?
what is your level of experience and skill with electronics?
what instrumentation, tools, and components do you have access to?

I got you--that is what I will try!

Hi. Cheapest way is to not buy anything, but use whatever amp you've
already got or can find being slung out. Odds are you've got somethnig
already, like a stereo.

Congratulations on seeing the light so quickly. There are some here
who refuse to see it even when its right in their face.
