Looks like a nicer ADT install here in the States. They don't know what a
knock-out bushing, or connector is either. I think they have squirrels run
the wires. Fast little buggers, but not good with wire ties.

Mostly concrete and wood, sometimes sheetrock, at least lots of new
places are, but its hard to find good people here to do that kind of
work.

850 US Federal Courthouses think otherwise, smalltimer.

That's supposed to mean something?

that would explain it, thanks

Yes, mostly only businesses have drywall, and only the office type that
are more likely to have AC. New larger homes also have it now, some of
them.

ADT must have sub-contracted the installs...come on J., you can be honest.
I know you guys can't bend pipe, or even install it, or even what it
is....so who was the sub that got you through those Installs?
Don't lie to me J.

Hey...no offense to Mr. Sloud, but if anyone from ADT called me a "small
timer", I'd be truly flattered. All I've ever had is letters from their
lawyers threatening to close down my website.......I'm disappointed....:)))

(current number of customers on their station....14 and dropping fast......)

Jack,

Sloud's alright. He works for Corporate -- nothing to do with the idiots in
the "authorizewd dealer" program.
I know, and I have nothing against J. I'm just giving him shit.
Every time I here those three letters.....eesh.
I realize there are some good folks there...it's just hard to look past the
day to day things I see out there. It's unfortunate how name recognition can
exceed quality. They're the largest in the industry, but fall short of
leading by example....at least that's my observation, and opinion.
As long as they take good care of guys like J., I have no problems with
them. They used to not be able to recognize good people.

Understood, but remember that most of the problems are caused by the
so-called "authorized dealers." Sloud probably has the same opinion (or
worse) of those jerks as you and I do. While Corporate established the
program and they still tolerate all of the shenanigans, corporate installers
don't deserve to be tarnished by their slimy siblings' incompetence.

Fair enough?
They used to not be able to recognize good people.

Well, you have to give them at least some credit. They fired the Matamoron.

We have one corp here and 64 wannabees competing with each other.

The few good installs I have seen probably were done by the corp...to be fair. The rest are mostly crapola.

I see very few commerical jobs being done by them here, except for the little strip-center type stores...that kinda thing. No big commerical fire, or access control or cctv.

| I think it's supposed to mean they're more competent. Reality is that ADT
| Corporate more often than not does good work. However, they're not the only
| firm supplying US federal courhouses with security. I routinely sell to the
| judiciary, all branches of the military and various other government
| entities. I've recently sold several systems to government contractors
| working in Iraq. You don't have to be a huge corporation to service
| government accounts.

Even ADT was a "small-timer" once.

Even if I were not in the alarm business, I'm not so sure I'd want to be one of a million customers.

Depends on if you believe; bigger is better - I don't.

Close down your website for what reason?

Just a little sick of the ADT comments...

We win many contracts based on the quality of past work, and your
blanket comments about ADT are both untrue and revealing of a rather
nasty streak of what appears to be envy.
