Will bad/old batteries cause my controller to malfunction?

I have 3 yr old Walmart deep cycle batteries, seem to have 13-14 volts in them in daytime, but bank goes below 20 volts (24 vdc series wired, 10 batteries), after dark. I have 1730 watts in solar panels and an 8000 watt true sine inverter. It was all working fine for most of this time, but about February of 2018, the 2 flex max outbacks began to "snooze" when I flipped on the deep well pump on a bright sunny day, and I can make them "wakeup" but I never had to stand there and babysit before. They used to just run. I can't get an adequate answer from anyone, So I simplify my question to ; will bad batteries caused my outbacks controllers to "snooze"? Also is there a troubleshooting manual I can download for the flex 80's, my current manual doesn't talk about this problem.

Have no idea what a flex max outback is and your info needs to be a little more fact related. Assuming lead acid cells for the 10 batteries in series, 20 volt would be expected, depending on loading.
No idea about the snoozing and wakeup and babysitting is all about either, sorry.

Have you considered that the pump might be the problem? Could it be clogged? Can you try running it from a different supply?

Separate the batteries and check them individually. One bad battery can pull the rest of the bank down.
