Hi this is my first project and I've been researching for about 2 weeks on led wiring. So I'm still hardly an expert. But I wonder if anyone could have a look at my wiring diagram I've drawn up in paint (bad way of doing it I know) and tell me what they think and if it will work the idea is its going to be a head torch with a high power beam and a low power beam.

any help will be appreciated thanks
Peter

Thanks for the reply. About the LEDs being backwards that was just me being stupid I wouldn't have wired them that way :D. Your solution looks more cost effective. is a regulator not really needed? What kind of allipcation needs a regulator? Thankyou peter

No, you don't always need one, especially when you can use a resistor of reasonable value and size.

You would want to use a regulator/driver when performance, efficiency, run time and stability are project requirements.
