The event organizers Deutsche Messe, recently announced that they would be delaying the show until July 13-17, in response to coronavirus concerns, which has been a trend with several other trade shows â such as Mobile World Congress and electronica China â being cancelled or postponed.
Late last month Deutsche Messe held a meeting with the executive board of the exhibitor advisory committee and the associations to discuss the current situation with coronavirus. âWe are taking all developments concerning the coronavirus very seriously,â said chairman of the Deutsche Messe managing board Dr. Jochen Köckle. âWe are in close contact with the responsible health authorities, the Hannover Messe exhibitor advisory committee and our partner associations VDMA and ZVEI.â
What to Expect at Hannover Messe 2020?
At a pre-event press gathering in London, event executives highlighted that this year would feature four key categories: digitalisation, individualisation, carbon neutrality, and demographics. The eventâs motto this year is: The technology world comes to Hannover.
With the increasing volumes of data, constant innovations in technology, and a growing awareness of climate protection, it will come as little surprise to many that trade shows are beginning to focus more on topics like these.
âThe way we live, produce things and work is undergoing extremely rapid change,â says Dr. Jochen Kockler, CEO of Deutche Messe. âThe manufacturing industry is in the driverâs seat. The challenge is to take the wheel and shape the change."
Other major trends and topics that will feature prominently at the show include:
Automation, motion, and drives
Engineered parts and solutions

More than 40 companies attended the pre-event press gathering in London where small booths exhibited previews of the technology and products that they would be taking to the trade show in April.
Nord Drivesystems (Hall 5, D17) will be showcasing many of their new products, such as the SK 500P control cabinet inverter. It is capable of controlling several motors in positioning mode and features a universal Ethernet interface.
Indu-Sol GmbH (Hall 9, D58) will introduce its PROmesh P10 high-performance diagnostic switch, marketed as a solution for industrial machines and systems that require a great deal of data on their networks. It helps to manage large data streams via integrated sensors.
Schunk (Hall 6, G59) will focus on end-effector products that can be easily integrated with cobots. The EGC Co-act gripper, for example, features I/O link control, parallel-kinematics for constant gripping force, an 80mm overall stroke, 42.5mm per finger.
A Focus on Indonesia
Hannover Messe will take place between July 12-17. There will be nearly 6,000 exhibitors from 70 different countries showcasing how that transformation can be positive and how change can lead to more innovation and growth.
As the official partner country of Hannover Messe 2020, more than 170 Indonesian exhibitors will demonstrate their industrial capabilities in a dedicated Indonesian Pavillion in Hall 21. With a growing digital economy, Indonesian industries are taking a huge leap towards Industry 4.0 and transformation is taking place across many sectors throughout the country.
