Texas Instruments' TPS2596xx family of 2.7V to 19V eFuses provide highly integrated circuit protection and power management in a small package for a range of primarily consumer applications.
Texas Instruments' TPS2596xx series of 2.7V to 19V eFuses feature integrated FET hot-swap devices and act as highly integrated circuit protection and power management solutions in an ultra-small package.
The devices provide design engineers with multiple protection modes, utilizing very few external components, that can be used in a variety of applications. The devices also act as a robust defense against the likes of overloads, voltage surges, short circuits, and excessive inrush current. Output current limit level can be set with a sole external resistor and voltage drop across the current limit resistor can be measured to deduce an accurate sense of output load.

Design engineers working on applications with specific inrush current requirements are able to set the output slew rate with a single external capacitator.
Where there is an input overvoltage, internal clamping circuits limit the output to a safe maximum voltage without the need for any external components (TPS25962x variants only). The TPS25963x devices of the TPS2596xx series provide an option to set a user-defined overvoltage cut-off threshold.
