Project Summary

  • Develop a small-scale indoor conservatory (FLORA) that utilizes a Microchip Tech Curiosity Nano and incorporates Configurable Logic Block (CLB) functionality
  • Build a novel application for floricultural research and development
  • Hardware consists of a home-built indoor conservatory that includes LED lights, a cooling fan, temperature and humidity sensors
  • The initial conceptual design was focused on light and fan cooling controls
  • Future iterations will incorporate a range of sensors, i.e. air quality, humidity, light spectrum, soil moisture, and more
  • Specific miniature flora was selected to evaluate the concept of operation
  • In this case, Dwarf Basil seeds
