16 ohm to 8 ohm quad box conversion

I have a quad box with 4 x 16 ohm speakers wired to give 16 ohm (series/parallel). is it possible to rewire to get 8 ohms? Or am I limited to 16 or 4 (parallel/parallel) as alternatives

Yes it would.

NO..... the capabilities of the amplifier have no effect on the way the speakers are mixed and matched to get a specific impedance !

16 ohm impedance an eight ohm impedance can be achieved the way he worded it!

BTW, if your amp is 8 Ohms, it will be quite happy running 16 Ohm speakers. You’ll lose some overall volume so that may or may not be a problem.
