Of course, heat can result in some expansion, but we have only milliamps available.
I want some "circuits?" to physically move between 1/4" tall and 1/16" tall.
Oh, and these circuits are each about the size of a human hair.
Is there a Material that can do this, controlled by an (electrical / electronic) circuit?
Thanks, people.

I think the nearest you'd get to movement of that order would be with bi-metallic strip or nitinol actuators.

WHO YOU CALLIN' A CRACKPOT, Blue?
Hey, I'm workin' on a Billion $ idea, here.

Thanks for the replies, people.
Right, Martaine,... about the size of a human hair.
And I don't really know about the power requirement.
Optimally, I'd like about a thousand of these "fibers?",
all parallel and stacked directly against each other,
covering about a two or three square inch area,
each piece individually being told to go to a certain length.
And All of it, powered by a single button-cell battery, like what fits in a hearing aid.

Ya' think there's Any possibility of this happening?
