Canon is the only source that can service this beast of a printer. Getting
service information from them is like trying to pull teeth from a chicken!
Most of the time it is the main board, print assembly, power supply, or the
main mechanics that fail.
Their service department changes these parts one at a time to test the
printer. When the printer is in warranty, most of the time, they give the
customer a new printer, if the repair job is going to take more than about
20 to 30 minutes. If it is out of warranty, it would not be worth to
service.
Before you invested your good dollars in to a printer, I would have
suggested to bin the printer and get a new one. Over the last few years the
newer printers are much better for accuracy, and reproduction. My personal
preference for printers are the HP models.
Even one of the newer lowest priced HP printers will do a better print job
than the older ones of the generation that you have.

If anyone would have repair info on this printer, I'd appreciate it. I've
bought a new print head, new tanks, still no print! Any ideas?
