Hello all

Been set some work on evaluating the performance of the motor and generators in regard to electrical theory. I have started off the piece of work by introducing the concepts of series and shunt wound motors and generators.I would be really grateful if someone could check it to see that the information I have included is correct and that I have not missed anything.

What I have written so far is shown below.

"Motors and generators can be set up to produce electricity in two different ways. The first method is called series wound, which is where the stators field winding are connected in series with the rotors winding through a commutator. The second method which is called shunt wound is exactly like the previous method except that the stators field windings are connected in parallel with the rotors winding, not in series. There is a third method called compound winding, which includes both series and shunt windings, but I will not be concentrating on this method. "

Cheers guys, Chick.
