How to identify different film capacitors

So I've tried googling and can't find anyway to tell the difference between these various capacitors; I can tell they're film, but whether mylar, polypropylene, mica, or whether of them are metallized or not.

I've uploaded the pictures of them, and I wish to know how to tell them apart in the future.

Good luck. The only way I can tell for sure is to find the company logo and Google
the part number. Identification used to be easy, now the way the encapsulate all the
different components, sometimes you can't even tell if you've got a capacitor or not.

I figured as much, just wanted to be sure if there wasn't some Macgyver way that I was missing out on or some such lol... maybe I could stick them in an x-ray machine assuming I could access one?

So I was actually able to finally identify most of the caps; MEFx means metallized polyester, CBBxx and MPE mean metallized polypropylene, PY means ceramic rated for AC, and so on and so forth.

Just remember, a lot of those prefix letters are generated by the manufacturer, and
not all manufacturers use the same prefixes.
Good luck with the parts identification. It's fun to find components you have a use for.

Yeah, totally feel that way; I've had 3 flyback transformers before I knew what they were, now I have high voltage fun.
