I guess we need to know your application.
Almost all video used to be connected to monitors via RCA plugs.
All the new connectors came into use when primarily analog signals became digital signals.

I'm using a arduino uno with the stock firmware and I have pretty much no knowledge of arduino programming

that doesn't tell us anything in regards to the video signal

as you were told, RCA plugs and sockets are still the standard for analog video

what is the source of your video signal ?

What kind of video?
  • RGB
  • Composite (e.g. VGA)
  • HDMI
  • DVI
  • ...
The plug is only one factor in the equation.

Which Arduino? There are so many flavors.
