was wondering if someone could help me figure out this power supply. Its a DC adjustable voltage/adjustable amperage power supply, 0-36v, 0-5.2 amps. When I turn it one and check the output with my Fluke meter on DC, it reads 34v when the v knob is turned to 0, and 38.4v when turned to 36v. when I turn the supply on AC, it reads 5.40v no matter where ya turn the knob from 0-10v. This is all with a black wire from the black terminal and a white wire from either of the 2 red terminals. So i decided to try changing the wires around. When I put a wire in one red terminal and another in the other red terminal and set my meter to DC, it reads as it should. Voltage adjusts just like the knobs read.

hi,
how about a direct on photo so we can see all the knob setting info

But overall, it sounds like the regulator inside has failed
popping the lid and some inside photos would be great

The red and black banana plugs have been added to the front.
The inputs are on the back.
Therefore, no telling what or why or colour coding was used. Trace the wiring from the banana plugs to the back and see what they are connected to.
