Laser Lipo Clone Concept - Project Help

Hi All,

I am totally new to this forum and have to admit, I don't know how much help I will ever be in responding to other people's threads.

The main reason for my post is to test a concept for building a home-made "laser lipo" type device using source-able components.

The specs that I want to achieve or get close to are:

Technology
i-lipo includes four laser pads with 36 laser diodes
i-lipo technical specification as their body shaping.

  • Laser type diode wavelength – 650nm – 660nm
  • Energy output – 38 x 40mW (Total 1.3W)
  • Mains power output – 100Va
  • Safety – On board diagnostics
  • Classification – Electrical Class 1, Type B applied part
  • Dimensions – 32cm x 46cm x 44cm (does not include stand)
  • Weight – 9.10kg
  • Cooling requirements – Air cooled
  • Electrical requirements – 240V/5A/50Hz
  • Fuses – 5A Ceramic timed
  • Mode of operation – Continuous
  • Ingress rating – IPXO
  • Environmental 10˚C to 30˚C Non-condensing
  • Requirements – Humidities below 75%RH
Now, the areas listed under 'Safety', 'Classification', 'Dimensions', 'Weight', 'Cooling Requirements', 'Environmental', and 'Requirements' (Humidity) aren't really important. My questions are:

  1. Could a device with these capabilities be built easily?
  2. If so, could LED's with the follow specs be used?

:eek: I think they're vitally important. LEDs of that intensity could damage eyesight.
I'm not sure I'd trust the Technology spec: are there 36 LEDs or 38?
