First off, I counted 17, not 16. And second, if you put that many LEDs
that close together, they get seriously hot and that shortens their life
seriously. If you want to keep them cool, then you have to run them at
much reduced current, which means you get light output equal to fewer
LEDs, depending on the reduction in current. Also depends on where the
array is installed. If it's in the confines of a flashlight reflector,
then it's probable that the air circujlation is worse, so it will get
hotter than usual.

Before I would commit to buying these, I would want to look at the
copper foil to see how much surface area and heatsinking ability it has.

indeed 17. label with 4.8 V 270 mAH battery stick is used when gauaged it
is only 4.44 V.
