Anyone know who sells small quantities AVR's (Atmega8) in surface
mount ?
Futurlec, Dontronics & Jaycar only sell through hole (I think because
management of these companies have a perception that SMD is too
advanced for the majority of hobbyist, and ignore the fact through
hole is ever diminishing, i.e. eventually hobbyists will be forced
into using SMD).

RS don't stock many AVRs.
Farnell are 3X normal prices.
Memec & Polykom have a $60 MOQs.
Anyone else ?

Apex Electronics (Wellington, NZ) didn't mind when I bought 10 pcs
TSOP Mega8s off them. They just posted them stuck to a bit of
carbonised cardboard . They were about NZD6 ea IIRC. 10 was my
requirement, not their minimum.
