I have a Napco Magnum Alert 1008eM security system. The windows in my
office attack have the pull aparts and the silver tape. It was done a
long time ago and they break connection a little too often, when they
are used. The windows are single pane and I'd like to change to glass
break detectors and pull aparts. I believe it's the tape that's
causing all the problems.
So, where can I get the glass break detectors and do I need to match
them to the Napco Magnum Alert 1008eM. I know resistence is critical
so I assume you just can't get any glass break detectors, or am I
worng?
Also, as far as connecting them, I have leads coming up from the
window sill, to the pull aparts, to a terminal pointm to the tape, up
to another terminal point at the top of the window, to the upper pull
aparts and then to another terminal and tape. I can see the serial
circuit but how do you connect the two glass break detectors. I can
figure out one glass break detector but not the second. So, I guess
the way to do it is to do it behind the side molding of the window and
connect it as the illustration below shows. Since the wire coming
to the window, comes from the window sill is right in the center, I'll
have to splice the wire. What kind of wire should I use?
