This should be easy but I'm still scratching my head. I want a simple circuit to convert a 60Hz input to a +/- 12VDC @ 1.0A square wave output that I can also adjust the wave from square to sawtooth. This is to eventually drive a push-pull solenoid.experiment
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

A solenoid will”push, pull” with its required turn on and off voltages.
A 60Hz signal can’t become 12V @ 1 Amp.
What are you trying to achieve?

Are you referring to the 60Hz from a main's outlet?
You will need to run that through a transformer for isolation.

And I don't know of any "simple" circuit to convert that to a ±12V, 1A square to sawtooth signal.

A sine wave through a Comparator will give a Square Wave.
A Square wave through a Modified Opamp Integrator will give a sawtooth.
Both these will give the required output (+/- 12VDC @ 1.0A) when fed to a Complimentary Power output stage.
