Need help on Fluke 8000a

I have a Flike 8000A bench digital multimeter. It was working fine till the battery ran down. I plugged the iec power cord in and it charged like it had done before. But when I pushed the power switch on it did not come on this time. Could someone maybe familiar with this give me some hints? I have previously downloaded a PDF of the service manual.
