Newby question - Yaesu FT-757gx

Hi All

Hope I am in the right forum for this question.... I have a early Yaesu FT-757gx transceiver that I was given a dead for spares gift!
So after a year or so I have slowly brought it back to life with the exception of this fault:
1.6 / 3.5 / 10 / 14mhz bands all work with a good 100w output and good receive. The bands of 18 / 21 / 24 / 28 MHz are missing! They are displayed on the VFO display when selected, but there is no Rx or any output on TX. For the life of me I cannot find the fault and its been suggested that a complete change of the 14 Schottky diodes may help, so before I pull out the front panel (nightmare!) I wondered if there might be any pearls of wisdom here!

Does that transceiver switch to a different LO for the higher bands ? And if so
thats crapped out ? Or a different PLL ?

Thanks, it does according to the Yaesu block diagrams trying to unravel exactly how it does this is challenging! If it’s the pll/processor then they are rare to find and it might be the parts bin for it :-/

they are quite a nice looking radio.
I have just downloaded the service manual, will do some study
