I am using a 24V 100A additional vehicle alternator for charging my additional battery bank of 24V.I need an over current /short circuit protection for my battery bank. I am considering using a DC fuse between batteries and alternator. Can you please suggest me an effective brand and also rating of DC fuse which is suitable for my requirement?

Fuses protect the wiring - ensure your cables are rated to carry the 100A.

It would be far more practical to fit a resettable fuse/circuit breaker so you can get both protection and the ability to isolate the source voltage in the event of servicing or other issues.

The marine market is the place to go for DC rated circuit breakers and Amazon have such examples - like this:

(other ratings are available - that one is a 60A versions)

Vehicles use a "fusable link" which can be similar to a short, perhaps 100mm length, piece of wire.
Emphasis here is on similar to, but not the same.
Then there are the standard fittings for fuse links.
Any reason you cannot split the load over several fuse links?
Would be more practicle if only for the cable size.
