Panasonic NVH-75 Shuttle rewind nogo?

Hi..

I have a panasonic NVH-75 Hifi VCR.
This i received with the Famous Dead power supply.
1uf 63V Electrolytic..

Anyway.. The unit now performs allmost 100%.
Everything operates. Play, Pause FF, REW, Stop, Eject etc.
All except when i go to play the tape in Shuttle search REW mode.
When the Rew button is pressed During Playback, VCR begins to rewind in Play
mode, but only for about 2 seconds, then stops.

I have checked Mode switch etc, all seems ok.

Any ideas ?

I think you have to keep it pressed. If you release the button it should
stop.
Another thing to check is button itself.

Hi Rudolf..

Yes. your correct with saying that i should keep the Button Pressed. These
models have a selection that you can enable or Disable that function. (M/S
Button)
But in this Case. No..
If i keep the button pressed, it only rewinds for approx 2 seconds then goes
into STOP mode.

Hi Ren,
I know this wont be a great help to you, but I have the exact same problem
with my older NV G12.
When in play mode I can foward but not reverse the tape without it
stopping.
It then starts playing again.
This happens in MS mode or not.

Hi Mark..

Yes.. Its a frustrating fault.
I have checked and replaced the Mode switch without any luck.
I thought about checking that small Encoder on the Takeup spool, but think
that its of no use, as it is used for normal Playback feedback too.

Looks like I'll have to keep searching those VCR repair tips online.
