Hi all!
Zenith combo TVSR1302S - Problem: It tries to come "on" but doesn't!. Checked
all voltages and they're within specs. Changed D2058 (switch transistor) that
controls the 9V supply along with electros since this is the voltage going to
the VCR motor. Motor oscillates back and forth but does not start...by holding
the shaft of the motor to avoid this rocking movement, I get the thing to start
but when switching it off and back on, same thing, it will not start by
pressing the "on" button...Voltage on motor changes from 7.15V when it tries to
go on, to .050 when ofrf.
Sorry for the lenght of the problem description but I know that with this,
someone will have a better idea in helping me out.
Thank you for your assistance.

I'm not sure who made this "zenith", it was either an Orion or a Funai made
set. If it's Orion, (large board mounted vertically on the left side of the
set), look for bad solder on it. If its a Funai, (all boards mounted horiz on
the bottom of the set, with/without a small board mounted vertically on the
right) look on the bottom boards for 3 pin voltage regulator ICs with the
numbers 7805 and 7806 on them and check the output voltage on them as you plug
in the set. The left pin is in, right is out. A good 7805 puts out 5vdc, 7806
6vdc. If low, set will shut down the supplys.
