Hi yes I will go through a crossover the problem I have is the original tweeter they no longer produce parts for but I have found a voice coil that will fit from the same manufacture

Thanks

So if I understand you, you are replacing an 4 Ohm tweeter with an 8 Ohm tweeter and the crossover was designed for a 4 Ohm tweeter. You might be able to modify the crossover to use the 8 Ohm tweeter. Do you have a schematic for it?

Those impedances seem really low for tweeters, they typically range in the 30's to 100 ohm ranges

that aside, you should be able to use the 8 ohm new ones and just play with the equalizer a little, its going to draw less power than the old ones, so you shouldnt have to worry about breaking the system, it will just be a little quieter, if you are going to do 1 you should probably do the other as well

Well, I don't have any ideas then. The speaker will work, but it won't have the same frequency response as it did before. Have you tried just wiring it in as is?
