Hello,

I want to control a signal generator using wirelessly.
I will have a keypad which sets frequency of sinewave. Keypad and supporting circuit(microcontroller) will be in my hand and generator will be at the other side of room.
so need some suggestions to design the wireless system.
which transmission technique should I use?

Infra red? You could (presumably) use a normal remote control and make some modifications to any of the (many) circuits designed to interface "stuff" controlled by them.

Here is but one example.

On second thoughts, probably the most versatile method of doing this is called the "research assistant". In many cases probably a cheaper alternative ;)

ok, what do u think about using ook or fsk in terms of complexity, implementation time between IR and FSK/OOK?
as far as i know, IR is meant for short range communication. even TSOPs range is not that great. Also, they have to be directional.
Distance in my case can vary from 3 meters to 6 meters.
Directions /line of sight between transmitter and receiver changes rapidly.
Tx and Rx are separated by metallic membrane.

i dint understand your second sentence- research assistant :)
