why after all those years of posting do you have less of a clue nowWhy does everything you touch turn to dog shit ?
than a decade ago
oh and the question is rhetorical
X-No-Archive: Yes

No, the one from the hospital. But all of them do it.
Right now in Campbelltown (Sydney S/West) many of my digital channels
are dead. I get
1,2, 3, 10,11,22,23,24, 32,44
Don't get
7,9,72,73,90,99.
Have often had troubles with 7 group not the others, seems to be
weather/overcast humidity connected/related. Using old analogue aerial
so probably a new digital one would help.
Not realy bothered about it yet. Most of time I get the lot

** Campbelltown is 53kms from the transmitters at Artarmon and there is high
ground between.
Consider yourself lucky to get any UHF signal at all.
Try using a 3 metre long UHF Yagi on a 20 metre high mast.
VHF should be OK with a fringe area antenna too.
Petzl said:I just ran "setup" and those Digital above vanished entirely but get 9
on Analogue?
I will when I feel need arises just call a TV antennae/aerial guy they
should know. Not keen on getting on roof myself

years ago, I had a lot of trouble receiving Channel 2 (analogue).
So I upgraded the aerial & no problems since.
I get real bad signal disruption every time a helicopter flies overhead
or nearby.
I sometimes get a little noise on 10 (and its other stations) but
nothing as bad as when a helicopter fucks up the signal. Since I'm near
the transmission aerials, it is most likely some sort of disruption
between my antenna and the aerial.

terryc said:I don't do that. Just put two backets onto peaked end of house(not barge board)
and then put both aerials on top of a piep of thin pipe and lifted it up and
clamped to the brackets. By "lift", I meant used and acro prop actually.
That's my thinking a new Aerial (I can see Centrepoint on a clear day)Yes, you should get a digital aerial.
I live in Kearns, a suburb of Campbelltown, and when I first came, 9-10
years ago, I had a lot of trouble receiving Channel 2 (analogue).
So I upgraded the aerial & no problems since.

Just can't yet to be bothered
Look a little bit more to the left, the the next set of towers, then LH
side.
Oh, it flies low over your house too? {.

** For how long ?
Just brief bursts of "noise" or continuous ?

You probably have the best view of the aerials from there. straight
NNE/NE to the aerial through a valley.
There are pockets in the Campbelltown city Area that are going tohave
great trouble.expense with UHF.
OTOH, there is the Mt Ousley transmitter to also examine.
a suburb of Campbelltown, and when I first came, 9-10
Details please?
aerial, mast, you/tv guy?, etc.

** And you also posted:
" the noise often comes between 4:30 and 7:30, but at other times too of
course. "
** This is characteristic of RF impulse noise generated by switch arcing
when lighting and appliances are switched on and off. These switches may be
in your own home or neighbours homes or even street lighting.
It is the MOST COMMON problem experienced by viewers of DTV with inadequate
signals or aerial systems.
If you look at channel 7 analogue, you will see noise burst patterns in the
picture at the same time.
It is the BANE of those living in unit blocks and using indoor antennas.
