Electro magnet, camera flash or induction, need help please..

Hello,
I do not have much knowledge in the electronics field :-( Need a big help with a project im trying to put together.
Have succeeded, with another project, just a home made coil and 2*9v batteries, through a 433mhz receiver, works fine for that.
But needing something a lot stronger.
Was thinking using a flash cap from a disposable camera. Then reading some more, to use an induction magnet.
Give a short burst of energy.
All i have is 20swg motor wire. What i am after, the workings to fit into a small box, hidden, then propel something weighing 2 gram, 5-10" Via a ref receiver.
Any help be greatly appreciated..
