I need some help.
The rotory dial on my cars radio only worked in one direction. So I took it apart to find this very tiny "switch".
VR006 is what the silk screen on the pcb refers to it as. The picture with the penny is the actual component. It's supposed to have a tiny lever sticking out of it that rocks back and forth to indicate which direction the dial is turning. I can't figure out what this is even called to look into buying a replacement. Can anyone help me?
I need to know what it's called so I can order a new one. Thank you!

From your description, it sounds like a rotary encoder. But from the picture I cannot figure out further details.

2010 Buick Lacrosse
It's the radio and heater controls.
The big dial in the middle is want moves that lil switch back and forth to indicate left or right. Like I said, I understand what is happening but I just don't know what the component is called so I can order a new one.
Thanks for the help

Almost there 2010 Buick LaCrosse
How many cylinders? What does it have to do with radios you might ask. They put different radios into the vehicle with different size motors. Why I have no idea but I keep on getting asked how many cylinders.

From your description and the markings, I'd guess at it being a spdt miniature switch, good chance on it being an oem device.
Best of luck chasing down one of those.

Wow! For 10 of them.
I found you one and you beat me posting it but it's for $40 plus tax plus shipping makes it over 50 bucks for a single one! So I won't bother. You made out like a bandit! By the way that entire cluster has been discontinued. So be careful don't break any of the plastic parts.
