Hitachi/Renesas HD44780A LCD Controller

Does anyone know where I can find a spec sheet on the HD44780A LCD
Controller? I have the spec sheet for the HD44780U, but can't get the
"A" version of the chip to enable the third and fourth lines, nor can I
get it to recognize a "Set DDRAM Address" instruction. Any help would
be appreciated.

Care to let the rest of us in on it? I just bought a couple of 4 line
displays that came with no paperwork.
