Joining flat ribbon cable?

I am trying to put together a security camera and it has ribbon cable that is around 9.5 mm wide and is 18 pin.

When I looked online finding an 18 pin cable seems impossible. I believe the pitch is about 0.5 mm.

I noticed there is a lot of 24 pin cables and 24-pin cameras so I'm wondering if I can adapt an 18 to a 24 pin cable?

I don't know a lot about this sort of thing so any information will be helpful.

Thanks

Can you take a photo of your (IDC) connector plus ribbon cable.
Thank you.
Flat ribbon cable is designed for mass termination of Insulation Displacement contact (IDC) connectors.Fixed conductor spacing & constant geometry allows for consistent electrical characteristics, such as impedance, capacitance, time delay, crosstalk and attenuation.

There's the attachment and a pic of the very short cable which attaches to it. I want to extend that.. You can see the end of the ribbon cable under my thumb. It's tiny surface mount. I might have the pitch wrong, given the item you posted.
The flat ribbon is 18 pin and is 9.5mm wide.

almost impossible
I have attempted to repair flat ribbon cables like that in the past. heating the copper hot enuf to connect
to just melts the plastic strip that the copper tracks are printed onto

Note also that the ribbon is often short for a good reason. Those camera modules have very high speed data busses that can introduce signal propagation issues if the cable is too long. Be prepared....

yup, as well as induced noise from surrounding circuitry etc
