Absolutely *NOT* free..
(1) those parts cost money
(2) programming an e-prom needs something that costs money
(3) that RS-485 port gotta interface to something that costs money
(4) time to build it is !lost! income (money)
(5) i will have to pay someone to translate if i were interested in
the details

your "build" as linux for example, and
have critisum.
(1) those parts cost money
(2) programming an e-prom needs something that costs money
(3) that RS-485 port gotta interface to something that costs money network
(4) time to build it is !lost! income (money)
(5) i will have to pay someone to translate if i were interested in
