looking at the picture i see irfp30
this is what alldatasheet shows:

it could be an irfp3006 or irfp3077

Definitely not 3077.
The 30 is obviously correct but I can’t fathom the last two.
I’ll check those out and probably just over rate it as I’m not bean counting. It’s a customer repair that Makita don’t supply these components, although I can buy the heat sink and pozi screw! What a joke.

Hi @bertus ,
You were spot on!.
A new new controller arrived today and the MOSFET is a 3006.
Now I’ll order one to repair the other.
