Hello all, I am trying to replace a switch in my dishwasher.

The switch has cables crimped onto the terminals, I'm wondering how they come off?

I've tried pulling them with a little force but they don't budge.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated, thanks!

DONT pull by the cables .... pull the top of the termination.
If you pull by the cable you could as you said "rip the cable" 2) you are pulling at an angle which wont help releasing the termination

When you pull the top of the termination straight up it will slide/wriggle off with a little effort

no probs :)

I usually use a flat-blade screwdriver under the bottom of the connector (closest to the switch) to gently lever the connector off.

Take great care to lift the connector off evenly - a little at a time, making sure the connector lifts off vertically, not at an angle.

Really cheap switches sometimes break, but that will not matter if it is a faulty switch that is being replaced.

Some of the terminals have a lock you need to press as indicated to remove.SWITCH.jpg

If you don't release the locking tab you'll be then till next christmas trying to get them off and end up destroying the terminal.
