Ribbon cable pcb attachement?

In the attached photo is a ribbon cable PCB connector. I count 18 pins.
Under my thumb is the ribbon cable which inserts into the PCB ribbon cable attachment lock. I'm struggling to get it open. The usual methods of flicking up the opposite side and releasing the ribbon cable is not working.
As you can see I've already snapped a piece off.
Can anyone tell me how I can get this off?

Don't worry I just figured it out. You lift up the black flap on the cable side.

mmmmm...measure twice cut once sort of comes to mind...
That and put brain in gear before the gob......
