Hi Again,
I did some digging on the web about LCD operations, and I'm now
convinced that the problem is a bad backlight. I've found the HV board,
and found 12V where the board has 24V printed... perhaps the problem.

In a way, this is good, but it tends to oint me back the power supply
board. I have no info on this, and don't see any printing that helps. I'm
still looking for hints, troubleshooting points, etc. I hope the extra
info helps.

Thanks,

Max

Look for anything on the inverter board that could be a fuse. I've
seen fuses fail on laptop back light inverter boards for no apparent
reason. Do you have HV to the tube? Look for a waveform on the
primary of the transformer. I've never seen a laptop tube totally
fail unless it was broken. It might be worth visually inspecting the
tube if the inverter seems to be working. The 12v on the 24v test
point is something to look at, but it could be a typo.
