Oh, another hopper! Very good Steve.
Yes, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a good but used Oscope. I sold my old one for next to nothing when we moved.

I don't have any "spare" scopes. I do have a good collection of bench multimeters though.

If you want a good old scope, look for a used 54501A or 54111D. You should be able to get them very cheaply. Look especially for 54501A's with "cal RAM" failures. This is caused by what is essentially a flat battery. Once this is fixed, the device can recalibrate itself.

Ps: Vegemite is nasty

Only if you do it wrong. I can conduct a master class on eating this fine product.

Thanks for the scope recommendation.
I'll look out for your 54501/11. I know deals can be had on Ebay, but the shipping costs can be a killer. No, I've got all the meters I'll ever need.

I can't imagine enjoying something that looks and tastes like axle grease.

I'm in Rochester Hills, MI.

Having just looked that up... I'm kinda maybe planning to go into Canada (just because I can) and I'll be crossing the border somewhere near Detroit. I'll let you know if I do. Maybe we can meet up in a neutral country :D

(I'll bring the Vegemite)

I prefer the Underwood Red Devil brand of chicken spread. Probably similar salty taste to Vegemite, but without the B vitamin nutritional benefit. No need to be stingy with Red Devil! Spread it on crackers, thick like peanut butter, pinch your nose shut and enjoy.:D One small zip-top opening can is a complete meal with appropriate choice of crackers.

I've got duel citizenship (Can/US) so not really a neutral country. Lol.
Let me know when your thinking.
I'll buy the apple pie but not the Chevrolet.

A suggestion has been made that I start a PM "thread" containing my schedule and invite interested parties. If you're interested, PM me or reply here.

No. Beach sand is mainly SiO2 (silicon dioxide). What you have there is H2O (dihydrogen monoxide or DHMO), an extremely dangerous substance that, if inhaled in large quantities, can be fatal. It is also extremely dangerous in the solid form shown in the picture, causing an immediate reduction in skin temperature if touched by bare hands, and can also be ultimately fatal if exposure to unprotected skin is extended for several hours. Be very careful walking (or driving an automobile) on the solid form of DHMO as it is often supported by a liquid layer underneath rendering its physical properties similar to graphite but with a virtually zero coefficient of friction. This solidus-liquidus combination has also been demonstrated to have fatal consequences.

Be afraid, be verrry afraid! Drive and walk carefully during your visit.:D

Looks like Hevans1944 won't be joining us on a sking, snowmobiling or tobogganing trip anytime soon.

Btw, beach sand is not so great when inhaled either.

This solid dihydrogen minoxide sounds bad. But is it just a phase its going through?
Yeah, just a phase. Should be all gone tomorrow here in Dayton, but more is expected until the vernal equinox arrives on Sunday, March 20 at 12:30 AM. Maybe also some more solid DHMO after that. There was solid DHMO falling from the sky when my oldest daughter was born on April 9, 1973.

Did you name her Hailey or any homophonic spelling thereof?

Just spent several very enjoyable days in Dayton OH with a well known member of the forums. I will be in Indianapolis this Thursday and Friday.

Any suggestions for Indy? I'm flying blind and solo, not the greatest combination...
