after a minute or so the screen would go bright blue with the raster lines
visible. the voltage on the blue gun is normally 165 volts but drops to zero
when it goes blue. there was 14volts measured on the base of the transistor
on the neck of the tube which drops to 9volts when it goes blue. i
unsoldered the base of the transsistor and now the set wont come on
fullstop. the standby light does come on but no response from the power
switch. no eht voltage and no heater voltage. the last thing we saw on the
screen was a couple of green glows in the middle of the screen which lasted
about an hour. we soldered the transistor back in hopeing that all would be
good but we were only to be dissapointed. when it was going blue it would un
mute itself on and off.
Any ideas ?

Did you accidently make a solder bridge or knock a cable off somewhere?
