Pioneer sa1290 input selection prob.

The receiver won't change inputs but the light changes when selected. It only works on the very bottom adapter jacks. Also, the tuner comes on but won't pull in a signal and yes I have an antenna hooked up. I can hear the tuner ever so slightly when I have the vol maxed out.

Open and inspect it. Look for burn marks, cracked components, vented capacitors. A little browning of construction adhesive holding some parts down isn't necessarily a problem.

After that I would probe the low voltage supply subcircuit to see if it's working properly.

Might not hurt if you can dig up a schematic.

Is this being a NEW product of yours . . . or one that has worked for years, and just now doesn't ?

Confirm that normally installed jumpers are being present in the rear of the units R and L input jacks for the ADAPTOR in and out connections .

Also what inputs are having audio sources plugged into them ?
Possibilities of Tape-CD-Video- Phono ?
