The internet is causing many stores to close. I like to see and hold things that I buy. If something goes wrong with them then the store replaces them. I also like chatting with the store staff.

I also would like to have a store that stocked common parts for emergencies. But they ain’t coming back. It just isn’t economically feasible.

I have had a simple solder sucker for many years but more recently purchased a soldering iron with a hollow bit and a sucker pump. I think this came from CPC as a special offer. Works well.

Hand, as in hobbiest, or electric professional? (see Duke37's message)
The professional ones likely have distributors somewhere nearby, who may have a display model.

Otherwise availability is likely location-dependent.

Not at all. Horses for courses.
The size and length (excuse my description) is important too. Not all tools fit in tight places (not again)...
What I mean is, sometimes a hand held tool is......No,No not again.
A professional would have the appropriate sucker for the job in hand.....Wow this is difficult.
Somebody help me please......
