Hi every one I just got in to this site and thank you for letting me in.
I need to build a normally open single channel SSR for one of my control boxes the input is 40VDC as well as the output. can some one give me a diagram and some info on this please??

Well not all relays are the same some have extra pins for alternate configurations, how many Amps do you need to carry and do you have a relay picked out?

Hi Coca cola the relay is to carry 5 amps of power... No I do not have a relay picked up. Thanks for your replay

Well the biggest issue I see if finding a 40V input relay, most are capped at 32V... Also most are AC rated on the output, and their DC rating is significantly less... I'm sure can find one that will work it will just take some digging...

At this point it's leg work time... Find a suitable relay and someone can surely help you wire it up...

Google up how to go about it if you are determined to go that route, they are not complicated to build, but generally cost inefficient to build...

You could do worse than looking up the LH1262. Even if you don't use this chip, it will give you some good ideas on how to make an SSR. The datasheet has lots of good information.

You'll find it is described as a solid state relay in several places. Ignore that, it's an optocoupled driver for mosfets. This is the innards of a SSR.
