We Americans are not what you seen in films, or TV shows. Those characters
are almost all caricatures of "normal" American life. We're boring people
that sit and watch too much TV.

Agreed. However, I do not agree with your earlier statements that we are
arrogant and try to force ourselves on the world. We are feared for our
awesome capabilities, not our actions. We have not oppressed anyone or taken
land from anyone in well over a century. It's not our way.
However, we can be wonderful allies and fearsome enemies, as evidenced by
the last hundred-odd years of world history.

How quickly out "allies" forget this.
Mark ( I LIKE France, just not French international policies) Dunning

Unlike the USA, France is truly snobby and arrogant. Unlike Americans, the
French are cheese-eating surrender monkeys.

Bob. This looks like it was written by one of Osama's staff writers in an
attempt to illustrate the absurd prejudice, narrow minded and hateful way
they see Americans. If you are really one of us, shut the hell up. We do not
need help of this sort, thank you very much.

**** you, you sushi eating Socialist-Leftist-Liberal-military-hating,
America-hating, business-hating, Barbara Streisand loving pantywaist, and
the polo pony you and John Kerry rode in on.

I apologize to no nasal-whining pencil-dick little inbred Northeastern
Liberal, Canadian, Frog, or Arab for being an American.

See how irritating personal attacks can be? See how irritating politics can
be in the wrong news group? Now take this shit to alt.politics before you
get me pissed. Little groups such as this should be a haven from politics.
I'm tired of politics, politics, politics. Now get lost.

That's not a sneer. That's just the way you look when you get used to
looking at things with your bifocals on. (Or maybe it's the look you get
when your cheese and wine don't go together?)

I wonder why the French have not purchased many Boeing planes since we
invested tens of thousands of lives to free them in the 1940s? I hope
that you are also not flaming people while Boeing is paying your wage
or salary.

Because they have their own aeronautical industry. Why import when
you've got it at home?

I wonder why the Americans have not purchased many items made in France
since the French invested the equivalent of billions of $ and a couple
thousand lives to help them gain independance in the 1770's?

Because (a) we've bailed the french out of, what, 4 wars since, and
(b) I've seen French engineering, therefore I avoid it.

"French Engineering" "Nuclear Power Plants". Not a good mix.

Well, in defense of the French, maybe their nukes were engineered in the USA
or <cough!> Russia.
