Hi guys!

First post here. but ill get right to it. and Ill load pics if need be.
I have an SNES that I want to put UV lights into (for the purple glow I just like how they look)
but I have 3.7 V UV LED's from RadioShack and the SNES is a 12v system. What are my options here to use them.

Just a little background, just starting to get my feet wet with this kind of stuff, I enjoy all things tech/mech. From working on my car to gunsmithing to replacing screens on laptops for a side job so im good with my hands just lacking the knowlage of what i need to do.

Any information and help will be great! Thanks guys/gals.

Hi Shane
welcome to the forums :)

do you have a current rating for the 3.7V LED's ?
with that knowledge you would be able to work out the value of the current limiting resistor
have a look in the tutorials dropdown menu near the top of the page
there's a section in there about using LEDs and calculating resistor needed

cheers
Dave

Dave!

Thanks for the prompt reply.
Here is what I have,

Wavelength : 405nm (typ.)
Viewing Angle: 20 degrees
FW Current: 20mA
FW Supply: 3.3 - 4.0 Max
(back of the RS package)

Ill take a look at the tutorials now as well!

Update!

So its a 9V system not a 12V system. I am looking for a 9V purple LED strip now cant seem to find any.

Anyone have any items they would be able to point me in the right direction. All I find on amazon is 12V Led systems.
