Cheats for winding coils.

Im working on a larger coil for my Tesla coil and it is driving me psycho having to stay aligned so i was wondering if anybody knew tricks to wind coils faster

guys have often used geared down electric drills with the wire bobbin mounted on it

for even more slow speed control the other favourite was a lathe
